Remodeling is a passion of mine. I would call it a hobby, but it's much too involved to just be a hobby. I started investing early on as a way of planning for my future. Through this investing I have acquired a few rentals, but no one will ever say it's fun being a landlord. The joy I find is in remodeling. I think it's so rewarding to change a "worn out" house into a wonderful home. Here are a few of my recent remodel projects:
This house was a restoration to return it to its original charm and details. All new paint inside and out. Completely new high-end kitchen. In the bathroom, the original hex tiles, cast-iron tub and etched glass medicine cabinet were restored - everything else was new. Original oak and fir floors throughout the entire house were restored - including sanding through several layers of linoleum in the kitchen. Gas was brought in to put stove and hot water tank on gas. Some electrical and plumbing updates completed. Professional landscaping was done. All new wood framed windows were installed in the entire house.
This house was entirely remodeled. The kitchen and bath were significantly expanded to provide more space. All systems were replaced with new: electric, plumbing, heat, gutters/roof, foundation. All new floors throughout. Paint inside and out. New kitchen and bath. Landscaping.
This house was mostly a cosmetic fixer. All new paint inside, new flooring throughout, refinished hardwoods, new kitchen and bath. Changed layout of kitchen slightly. Re-roofed garage.
